Employment Forecast Is Looking Up

The forecast for unemployment shows signs of improvement after a turbulent few quarters. Research from Manpower Employment Outlook Survey finds the net employment outlook stands at 0%. And while that number may not seem that great it is actually the most optimistic forecast since quarter 3 of 2008. From past quarters in 2011, the net employment outlook has been in the negatives, even dropping as low as -5%. The 0% is a very welcomed change that should symbolize hope for the people and economy of Ireland.

This hope comes from people deciding to think in new and exciting ways about the future of Ireland. It's possible to find the bright future for Ireland again. It all begins with one person deciding to make a change, one job, and joining the movement of Hireland. A revolution to encourage positive thinking about job opportunities. Starting in January of 2012, we are asking employers to spread hope and hire just one employee. That one will lead the way for Hireland's goal of creating 10,000 new jobs. So give hope back to Ireland. Give confidence back to the skilled people waiting to help your business. Join the movement. Spread the word and get involved on this inspiring wave of change.

Ireland’s Economic Rescue Package

After the crash of our economy we looked with hope to Europe for a rescue package and her response couldn't have been clearer. According to Sarcozy “there would no be a grand rescue plan €1., each government was to operate with its own methods and means .

And so we elected a new government and filled ourselves with hope that they would lead us through the dark days ahead.

Today it is the 11th of the 11th 2011 and we are facing into yet another year of shoulders to the wheel. It’s time we made some choices. We can continue to wait in anger and frustration for an imaginary wand from our government to wave all our troubles away. Or, we can choose initiative and action to get our limping domestic economy moving again. Hireland chooses the second option.

Our domestic economy is stuck in reverse and the time is now for our people, our businesses and our international networks to band together to pull it out.

We have an amazing workforce at the ready. According to Business Monitor International Ltd 2011, “Ireland has the second highest labour productivity level in the world, after the United States € . All that is lacking is the spark and impetus to get the ball rolling and that can only start when the business owners of Ireland rise to the challenges facing our domestic economy.

A recent study by Country Watch, Inc. (2011) reported that there is a €œgrowing possibility € that Ireland will need a second rescue package €1. We say that rescue package is is Hireland.

In January 2012 we will be calling business owners throughout the country to make a pledge – a pledge to hire one new employee. When we reach our goal of 10,000 pledges and 10,000 new jobs are created, we will have made that gear change. Together with Hireland, with your friends', your families', your neighbours' and your own hand – everyone can hire one, and Ireland can hire 10,000. Make your pledge to Ireland when we launch this January and start thinking now about how you can Hire One.

A Little Improvement Goes a Long Way

Small businesses are bearing the brunt of the domestic recession and for many they are fast running out of credit and customers to survive another 12 months like the one we have just come through. But for some there are shoots of hope appearing. A survey carried out by County Enterprise Board Central Co-Ordination Unit of Enterprise Ireland has found that in the last quarter of the year 5% of small businesses have improved their outlook on the overall business environment in Ireland for the year 2011.

Another change has been in the turnovers recorded by small businesses which they also anticipate will increase in the coming months. Both these figures while small in the grand scheme of the problem are still good news for our economic outlook and give rise for hope.

A more positive sentiment within the small business sector will hopefully translate to a confidence to hire “one € in the first quarter of 2012. If the 5% cited above can make the pledge to take the right person on to help them grow their business, Ireland will be well on the way to being back in business 12 months from now.
